A photograph from the 1930s of Chaim Weizman (1874-1952), a Zionist leader and Israeli statesman who served as the president of the Zionist Organization and then as the first president of Israel (1949-52). Weizmann convinced the United States government to recognize the newly established state of Israel. Black and white photo (17x12), sitting on the right is Sokolov, the High Commissioner, and his wife, standing in the center with an older man - David Wolfson. And Herzl's time. Spots of rust on the back of the photograph.
