1948, Bank Notes of Israel: The Levin Epstein Proof Notes - printing offer.  In 1948, during the nascent stages of Israel's statehood, local printing houses vied for the opportunity to produce banknotes for the fledgling nation. Among them, the "Levin-Epstein" design emerged, presenting a prototype on simple paper. One side featured a portrait of a young girl (Epstein's daughter) amidst a bouquet of flowers, while the other depicted an ancient shekel. In the absence of a finalized design for the currency, the notes bore the name of the Dapod House. Though most examples were later destroyed, a few individual copies have endured, rendering this piece a rarity in philatelic circles.
