1942, A pre stamped postcard with the occupation overprint, sent from Litzmannstadt ghetto by Z. Witkind top Mrs. B. Witkind to Mrs.B. Witkind in Krosno c/o the cultural socioety, and dated 1/1/ 1942. In this postcard the word 'BROD' [BREAD] is underscored, while the food in the Litzmannstadt ghetto isdiscussed, as to what they have and have not.

KROSNO, a town in Rseszow province, in South East Poland. In July 1942 the Jews from Krosno country were concentrated in Brzozow, Duikla, Jasienice, Korczyn, and Rymanow and from there deported to the Belzec death camp. About 800 Jews, who went into hiding and were discovered, lived in the Korsno ghetto from August till December 1942. On December 2nd 1942 the ghetto was liquidated and all its inmates deported to Rzeszow, were they shared the plight of Rzeszow Jewry.
